With the In the Kitchen series, pre-production consisted of crafting a personalized brief, creative brainstorming, and comprehensive moodboarding, all while placing special emphasis on an advanced streaming setup tailored for live cooking.
PRE PRODUCTION
For the In The Kitchen project, the pre-production phase commenced with a tailored project brief that precisely delineated project goals and identified the target audience. A collaborative brainstorming session yielded a spectrum of concepts for the video, including camera techniques, lighting considerations, and animated graphics.
With refined concepts and a moodboard materialized, I aligned on specific typefaces and colors schemes to ensure I was adhering to Chicago Magazines branding guidelines. Following the creation of the storyboard I outlined pivotal scenes and transitions which would then led me into styleframes. These visuals established a unified reference point with the client for the videos intended appearance prior to production.
PRODUCTION
The production phase for In The Kitchen began with on-site preparations. Cables were appropriately arranged, cameras were positioned with precision, and lighting was optimized for capture. The result was an expertly documented live streaming cooking show that captured the essence of local Chicago celebrity chefs, the beauty of food presentations, and an abundant amount of delicious leftovers.
POST PRODUCTION
The culminating step in the production process entailed the editing of video and images. As a digital editor, this phase involved seamlessly integrating raw footage and images to craft a polished visual recap. This final product served as a testament to the meticulous planning and collaborative execution that defined the project.
